Look I’ll do it first
I’m a greedy unemployed fuck and don’t want to pay money to watch Harry Potter films because those movies are bad
No ham-fisted argument about how “movies that take massive amounts of time and effort from hundreds of people are art and all art should be free” necessary
Yeah pretty much. Movies I mostly just see at the theatre anyway? I buy DVDs sometimes. Films aren’t really my prime art industry of consumption, music is.
With music I prefer the “I pay when I can” line of thought because no less money is coming from me than would be coming from me had I never been able to pirate music.
In fact it’s probably considerably more because the only artists I would have in my library without illegal piracy would be a few TMBG albums and some Lemon Demon which I actually bothered obtaining legally early in my music loving period of life. It wouldn’t have expanded much
